June 6th : Collection and treatment of the management of Milan’s organic waste

Morning : 

• Time for exchange between participants and locals (politics and techniciens)
• Visit and presentation of the waste collection in Milan :  CEM (Consorzio Est Milano) which is near Milan, in a low-density area, and they were the first District to implement collection of kitchen organics in Italy 
• If possible, visit of a brand new compost

Lunch

Afternoon : 

• Time for exchange between participants and locals 
• Visit to a treatment site (in Milan or elsewhere)
• Visit between Milan and Parma (Lacchiarella (10 km from Milan)

Evening : Traveling to Parme (2 hours)

June 7th : Collection and treatment of the management of Parma’s organic waste

Parma – purpose : the organization of bio-waste separate collection in a medium-large size city and the brand new bio-waste treatment plant producing compost and biomethane located in Gavassa (Reggio Emilia), currently in testing but likely to be fully operational in June (if there will be time to visit it). 

Morning : 

• Time for exchange between participants and locals 
• Visit and presentation of the waste collection in Milan

• Time for exchange between participants and locals 
• Visit to a treatment site (in Parma or around)

June 8th : Back to Milan : Visit and discussions about bioplastics and paper bags production and degradation and eco-taxe presentation. 

Morning : travel between Parma and Novamont laboratory

10-12am : visit Novamont’s lab and discussions around bio-plastics bags design and degradation

 Afternoon : Conference : 

• Speaker from the industry of kraft bags products,

• Other actors related to composting (farmers ?)
